I recently bought a GMC 86 K35 4x4 for the Dana 60 and the 14FF, to put them on my 79 K10. My question is that will I have to move the spring perches or will it just bolt up. I am placing a order at diy4x and i was wondering do i need new perches. I know the shock mounts will not work no biggie.

Thanks guys

Yes you will have to move the perches to be in the correct position to go into a K10.

1/2 ton perch spacing is 42.5" center to center
3/4 ton perch spacing is 42.5" center to center
1 ton perch spacing is 40.5" center to center

the fab shop stuff like diy4x and ruffstuff are better than stock. longer pad length and less axle wrap on the perches and stress on the springs.

so its not all bad in the end.

oh ya and you can move the axle back or forward 1" with the top plates thay offer also.

What plate is this? What would be the benefits? For drive shaft length?

Also another question is are the 1 ton and 3/4 ton 14FF the same other than that?

Thanks

Top plate is where the U-bolts go through on the "top" of the leaf spring pack. IF you decided to move the axle forward or rearward the top plate either needs to be replaced with one that is already set-up for this or you would have to drill a new hole in the top plate in the appropriate position so the spring center pin can go through it.

3/4 and 1 ton 14ff axles are identical with the exception of the shock mounts and spring perches being in a different location.
