Am I just lucky and mine is stuck, or is there a trick to getting it off other than removing the nut and pulling it off!!!!!

They are usually a pretty tight fit. You will probably have to use a puller or hit it with a hammer from the rear.

Use a penatrating oil and a puller.... it'll pop right off.
