How much backspacing needed on 15" rims to fit a DRW D60 without grinding the calipers and mounts?

I'm guessing somewhere around 5" or so.

Well, 2" BS fits on a SRW d60 with no grinding, and the DRW adds 4" to that, so anywhere upto 6" of backspacing should work by my math.

Don't have the tires or rims yet as I'm in the planning stages and doing research and homework.

I want 15" for the safety bead and also want either 10" or 12" wide rims. Hummer rims are out of the question, period.

Just checking, as far as the original question I don't know. I would guess "thedrip" is close though.

I'm sure there are slight variances between different batches of calipers and wheels, but my 15's with 2.75" BS required about 30 seconds worth of grinding on each caliper to fit with no rubbing.

With that said, thedrip's thinking should be right on line since the dually hubs stick out 4" more and are therefore just like 4" worth of BS on wheels....2.75 + 4 = 6.75". Of course unless you go custom I've never seen a 15" 8-lug with more than 4.25-4.5" of BS anyway.

Depending on the tire , look into 16" tires, if available. They have the safety bead, and a little more clearance than 15"s.
