I searched but could not find the answer. I have 15 X 10 inch wheels on 14B FF and Dana 44 axles. The back spacing is not correct as shown in the picture below. I have 2 new 15 X 35 X 12.5 tires and would like to keep them and buy 2 more. What size 15 inch wheel with what back spacing will work with this axle combination?

interesting
I didn't think you could without some kind of super shallow backspacing. I'm interesting in knowing. I think the 3/4 D44 will need some caliper grinding to fit a 15" rim. I though the 14b needed a bare minimum of 16". Your rear 14b looks like a dually it sticks out so far :) hmmm

bump

Yup you will have to grind some on the front to make them fit with 4" backspacing, but the rear will be fine.

2.5" backspacing will fit with no grinding.

What backspacing is this? Curious. I have no idea what mine are, haven't bothered to measure. But mine are 16x8 (or 7 maybe:haha:)

mine are 15x10 with 4.5 backspacing. I had to bend grind and hammer the front but the rear fits perfectly. The drums are huge and goofy looking but it's whatever.

1 ton or 3/4 ton? Mine is a 3/4 and are tucked inside the rim pretty well. I just need to measure b/sing I guess, but how much could it be with 7 or 8" wide rims lol. Thanks for the reply
Only picture I have:

nope, FF
But my cousins 14b out of a 90 sub has wider brakes I think. I thought the 1 tons had wider shoes. But I dunno. If you didn't have to move the spring perches, it's a 3/4 ton.

AHHH, I feel like a moron a little. Without b/s, what's it mater lol. I'd like to go to 15's. The selection for used tires on craigslist is WAY better than 16's.

Does grinding reduce the structural integrity?

You're only going to be grinding a little off the caliper so they will clear the rim. The other thing you have to watch for is the wheel weights they put on the inside of the rim for balancing. It's really not that much and you just take a little off! There are plenty of threads on this issue here amongst the forum.

you can use 15" rims on the rear with rear disc brake conversion and alot of grinding, same for front 3/4 ton and 1 ton gm axles

Not to mention the price difference for new tires, I was set on the 16's for my 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks, but now I am considering finding 15" rims for my 3/4 ton.
Even with the rims it will cost me less.:dunno:

This was also a factor in my wanting to go with 15" rims.
