If I decide to go ahead and use the '76 k20 axles I have, will a 15" wheel fit over the drum brakes on the 14BFF?

yes, but if u decide to do discbrake conversion, u could be grinding the calipers depending on the backspacing

cool, thanks. I will be buying some BFG KM2's at truckfest in a couple weeks and wanted to go 15's for more sidewall.

Short answer: Yes :)

I'm running 15 x 8 with only 2.5 inch backspacing (to clear the calipers on the front) but the back clears no problem even with more backspacing.
