Looking to spend about 20$ obo shipped for clean and straight piece of square cut out of the bed of a k5. I'm making a access panel for the in tank fuel pump my k5. I want to cut a square out over the tank and put a piece bigger then the place I cut out. Ivwant to use some bolts to secure it. Unfortunately nobody near me has a truck that they will let me cut a hole in the bed. And local junk yards don't provide power. So if the price is right I was hoping somebody on here can cut one out for me and ship it to me.

Yea just one. But I gotta bring a generator or buy a cordless grinder/jigsaw or use a hand saw.
Taking offers too.

Just reuse the square piece you cut out. I lined my hole with flat 2" bar stock to give it a ledge. I ran one across the middle for support but is removable. In tank fuel pump changes take less than an hour now.

Thats what I did for a buddy. We put thick weatherstripping on it too no drafts or extra noise at all

I thought about this and I'm worried about exhaust fumes the most. But thats a good idea with wraping the weather strip around the edge. I think I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.

I used silicon on it. If you ever need to access it, you can pry if up and break the seal. Then redo the silicon after.

Some metal backed roofing repair tape that has butyl rubber adhesive works great for sealing up seams like that...

It doesn't bend when you pry it up? Did you reinforce the outer edge? I'll look into the metal roofing repair.

I did not reinforce the outer edge. When I pry it up I just go slow and steady. Cutting as I go.

You just use stuff like the all purpose clear tube at Walmart? I think I'll give it shot.

Yup. Totally seals it and fairly easy to remove. Just don't go crazy with it.
