Ok, I'm having a no start at 1/4 temp or 155 degrees. This is the only symptom I can see. I just got a smog-check and now the starting problem. I do have new wires, plugs, distributer, timing chain, air cleaner, fuel filter,starter---all about 1,000 miles ago. Dam CA. smog laws. Any ideas??????? This is a 1991 burb 350 tbi 4l80 3/4 ton. and I just did a leak down test and a comp. test.

If you've got an autozone close by, I'd say take your truck there, and see if they have that "free scanning" that I always hear about. Sounds to me if it's that specific, that it's more than likely the coolant temp sensor for the ECM.

Don't throw parts at it, that's why I suggest having it scanned if you can.
