So I'm somewhat in the market for 16.5 wheels. I have access to the h1s. And I am a machinist and could make the spacers at work. But I'm more interested in getting an aluminum set. In in the San Diego area

8 lug
I currently have 8 lug 15s with 4" of backspacing and I just barely had to grind the caliper enough to remove the excess casting (dana 44). I have 35" bfg all terrains that are half tread or so. Great tires but I figured if I could score a decent aluminum set of 16.5s for around 400$ I have a buddy who owes me a favor that offered up a set of the military 37s. And I'm very familiar with them. I know the 36s aren't worth a damn and the 37s wear like iron - we've used them on a few ford and dodge diesels.

I'm in Hemet - I'm parting my truck out and have 2 sets of 8 lug rims....... I'll get a picture if your interested.

I would look for the stock GM 16.5"x6.75" steel wheels with a safety bead.

Yeah if you'd pm me with the pictures that would be great. I'd like to see what they are.

Also I've thought about it. Or just getting a new set of steel rims 8 wide or so. Since the tire will be 12.5. But to be honest, I don't thing the truck has been below 15 PSI in a very long time. And that's with the 35s on a 15. So I'm not too worried about the bead. And I want aluminum for ascetic reasons

A 35x12.50R16.5" tire fits on a 16.5"x6.75" wheel just fine.

i have some drw bolt on adaptors for 8 lug .

I let them go for a deal if you want them .

there gm off 88-up vehicles . just got metric studs is all.

Once upon a time I had some 16.5/36-16.5 dick cepeks on a set of 16.5x10s... Worked fine - great in the sand. But I had trouble getting them to wear even on the road with the weight of the truck. Ended up doing the chalk like on them and even wear was around 24 psi. And my buddy ran the military 37s on 6.5 wide dually rims - only had around 30-35 psi in them. It can be done but I'm not sure if I want to go that low since the truck is primary street for now with the occasional trail or desert trip.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna go with the spacer route yet. Truck is a 71 k5 and I'm trying to really clean it up. By the end of the year I want to have it pained and look nice. So I'm not sure if I'm gonna go for the h1s. But thanks

So Cal Urb, how much would you let either set go for? I like the second set better but it might have to wait until the truck is more road worthy - having carb issues. And other than that all we have is a civic and a motorcycle (granted I would put money on the bike hauling two at a time on top of the panniers)
Also what's the back spacing and width?
Thanks to all of you

350 on the set that is on my truck (the one you like) and 250 for the other set - some of these have tires on them - not great tires though... but there you can have them as well - or 500 for all + a unmatching spare tire/rim full size - open to offers

Hmm let me discuss it with my wife. She's still getting over the new carb that's on the way and a few other random buys. I'll try and let you know as soon as possible. Chances are it might have to wait a paycheck but I'll be sure to let you know one way or another

Also any word on the back spacing? If it's just standard I'll assume 4.5 inches

I'm interested in whatever set Pizza_Man doesn't take.

Are both sets 9.75" wide? And shipping to 67439 for just wheels only. Don't want the tires.

I have a set of American Racing (I think) 16.5x9.75. They come with a free set of 39.5" swampers (little tread). Asking $200.

So Cal Urb, I'm interested. But I've got to wait until at least this next paycheck coming up. I'd like to try to get both, but if not I'll go for the set that's 350 (the ones with 8 holes). That back spacing and width is perfect for the truck. Now it has 10 wide with 4" of BS and they stick out about an inch too far for my taste. I'll keep you posted

Hidesertwheelin, I'd prefer the larger hole style. But just to get an idea, where are you located?

Update - another guy pointed out that they are not all the same.... I had never noticed but, looks like they are 2 different sets.... and the black that is around the lugs on the 2 is just plasti-dip... i just need to get that off - so just let me know
