The closer I get to finishing my blazer I'm thinking I should get a spare set of wheels and tires. Right now I have painted H2's with center caps and Mickey Thompson MTZ's 35's. They sure look pretty (Poseur:doah:) and I know the first time I wheel it they'll just get tore up. I've been thinking about getting some steel wheels and making some cheap beadlocks with some used bias ply tires just for wheeling. Used tires seem to be abundant locally but 17's are kinda scarce. Would 16 inch rims be a more logical choice? I guess 16.5"s are a choice but the tire companies seem to be phasing that size out compared to 16"s or 17"s. What do you guys think? Anyone got a particular wheel that's cheap and works well with beadlocks? I'm thinking about Kert's DIY beadlocks.
