Nope.

Price is due to popularity/demand.

I kinda depends on where you live......I dont think its way too much for a rebuilt 60.

Try to buy a cheap one and rebuild it yourself. D60 parts are expensive! Someone on here once posted their list of parts to rebuild, regear, and add a locker to a D60. As I recall the total was around $3,300. :shocked:

When you start buying bearings, u-joints, seals, kingpin rebuild kits, gears, locker, etc. the price tag climbs rapidly.

Plenty of guys with WAY over that into their D60's on this forum...

Heck, look at Manny, he had about 3 g's in his I believe..

You start running sweet axles, Detroit, etc, it adds up quick...

It depends on whats in it.

I have a "Cheap" 60. I bought it for $300! With all the parts, rebuilt end to end I will be at about $2000 into it I think. The only things left stock are the spindles, knuckles, inner shaft and housing. And I may buy Dedenbear knuckles yet, so thats another $500. But I mean, mine is 5.13s, Detroit, 35 spline stubs, 1410 yoke, crossover/high steer arms.

IF the guy is just selling a 4.10 new bearing 60, thats a tad steep, not amazing but steep.

i can get an open d60 in good shape for 1200 any day of the week, so paying 500$ for a limited slip and powder coat that will get destroyed isnt worth it imo

well lets see...
my d60

detroit = $600
r&p = $125
rebuild kit = $115

total = $840
oh yeah
2 x brute force ujoints = $60
$900 for my d60 front and that dont count the axle!!!! which around here goes for $900 and needs a rebuild and a dually axle....

so that is $1740 if I bought one out of the yard

Sounds like a good deal to me. I paid 750.00 for my D60 then including the cost of parts to rebuild it and go crossover i have about 3500.00 total invested.

i paid 1200 cdn for mine

its 4:56, i had to put hubs on it( got milemarkers off some guy on pirate)

so into it for 1300 now, its fresh ready to go, and my dana 44 braided lines fit with new brass washers, yehaa!

i got my 60 out of a truck that a buddy and i split. i had $600 in it. add 5.13's set up parts and install, spool, new single wheel hubs, drive flanges, Yukon 4340 inners and outers, 300 m joints, braided lines, new pads and ord cross over. i think it was best not to add it up.

ok now you made me add it up.................. ouch close to $3300
