yes, but it will require tearing the whole thing apart and swapping the output shafts. if you're going that far, might as well rebuild the existing trans.
 
you don't have to take it that far apart, all you have to do is remove the pump and pull out the input drum then depending on the tranny you just remover a snap ring and the outpu shaft comes out. The only gaskests you need are a front pump gasket and a pan gasket

This is HUGE info for me. I've been dancing around this for a long while, getting a lot of different and conflicting opinions. Is this accurate info in regards to a TH400? I have a freshly rebuilt 2WD that I would LOVE to put into my truck. HUGE thanks for any further info! :bow:

im not sure about the 400, this is more for the 700-R4 and 350 tranny, but the 400 sould not be to much different, i can send you pics of the process for the 400 if you want
