How many are there? Anybody know off hand?

Well...there are exactly 12, 10 not including turn signals...atleast this is the fact tach cluster in my bedroom.

i think 9 sounds about right too, Replace them with 168s, they are 3watts instead of 1watt, also if you have it apart spray it with chrome spray paint, you wont believe how much brighter they are than the crappy dim stock set-up

Thanks guys!

I just ordered 10 LED's. wanted to make sure I got enough.

:doah: big wast of money as per others on here. you need the search button helper.

leds suck in the cluster. thay dont flood the light. the chrome paint and 168 make it great.

but you can do what you want .

I got the 6 led inputs. I guess I hadn't read the negative feedback about them. I intend on going a step beyond the silver paint so maybe that will help. If not, oh well I'll switch back to something else.

I looked at LMC and it shows more. 15 of those in one

2 of them are turn signals and a 3rd is the beam indicator. Some other may also be for idiot lights. I'll have to pull mine apart I guess.

You'll have to report back. The cluster lighting sucks anyways, I can't imagine LED's will make it worse lol.

Are these the "light disbursing" type LED's (designed to give more light off the sides than normal LED's) or just plain jane LED's?

They don't give alot of information about how the light is disbursed. They have several different types though. I guess I'll try these for now and see how it goes.

I'd like to know as well. I've spent the last 30 years in a cave - what gets painted chrome? The bulb itself?

The few that are currently lighting seem fairly bright. I did paint the backside of the reflector silver so I'm sure that is helping. I need to open up the panel one more time and see why so many are not lighting. The printed circuit is in kinda rough shape in places. Not sure at this point if its savable but we'll see. If I get them all to light I'll take a photo. So far, i'll say i'm happy with the bulbs, it's the 20+ year old GM stuff that is the problem.

If they are using the stock twist in socket, pull the sockets and then bend the two small copper contacts out a bit. When I first bought my Blazer, more than half of the lights in the cluster were non-functional. I removed all of them, replaced the obvious bad ones, then bent all the tabs out a bit. I now have all of the lights in the cluster working, and have pretty good light. I still need to do the reflector paint, but for now I can see everything on my dash.
