I don't know if there would be any interest in this at all on here but I thought I would try it and see. Anyways, here are the details;

This Jeep came from Utah and is 99.9% rust free.

  • 350 Small Block Chevrolet engine
  • Ford 4 Speed with the granny low 1st gear
  • Dana 300 Transfer Case
  • 4.56 Axle Gears
  • Detroit Soft Locker for the front axle
  • Detroit Standard Locker for the rear axle
  • 32X11.50 Mud Tires with great tread depth left and matching spare that has never been run
  • Electric cooling fan
  • Rancho Shocks all around
  • Heavy Duty Large Diameter Tie Rod
This jeep runs great and has had several maintenance procedures performed very recently. Fresh oil change, new fuel pump and filter and the gas tank was removed and cleaned.

The seats are not the prettiest but they are comfy and more than good enough for trail use. However they could be upgraded to something that matched the rest of the Jeep better. Also, the transmission tunnel was cut out right around the 4 speed to clear it. It is fully functional as is but it would be nice to have one fabricated for it. Other than those two things, this CJ5 is good to go.

I took this on a trade and really don't care much for Jeeps. I have 2 K5's and several other trucks of the 73-87 era. None of which are cool enough to mention details about but they all are a work in progress I guess.

Thanks for looking. I would like to get $4500 out of it.

Thanks.

The jeep that won't leave!

$4000 anyone????

Trade for K5???

Would do some trading on a K5 for the Jeep if anyone was interested. Preferably a TBI model with a 4 speed manual.

Thanks.

Are you sure that it doesn`t have a glass tub on it?

Quite sure. Glass hood, steel tub.

Out of curiosity though what makes you think it would, just the fact of no rust?

Thanks.

Doesn`t say JEEP in front of doors on body and no tailgate. Plus it doesn`t have any rust. It does look like a lot of fun though! I`d think you`d get your money on ebay.

Ahhh, makes sense. I know very little about Jeeps to be honest. I got this for a client who then backed out on me so I am kind of stuck with it.

I do know the title has it listed as a 1965 Kaiser CJ5 if that means anything. I run with some jeep guys who have some CJ5's and this one is about 5" shorter than theirs. From the hood hinges forward all is the same but between the hinges and the windshield mine is shorter. not sure why.

I may just try eBay. I hate listing cars on there but I would rather have my money back out of this thing than anything.

Thanks for the reply.

Amc bought jeep in 1970 and didnt want to keep buying v6's from buick but their straight 6 was too long to fit in the cj's so starting in '72 they stretched out the wheelbase and front fenders a couple inches so they could use their own 6 cyl.The '76-'86 cj 7's are longer yet.

Oh cool, thanks for the info!

Still willing to trade this for a K5 if anyone has any interest in that.
