1966 Plymouth Fury build thread.

Exactly what I was thinking...mods to gramps Fury!

Wahoo Rene’
Happiest of days brother.
Chalk up another notch on the death challenge board!
Cant wait to hear that Mopar making noise!

No hangover, which seems to be a trend. Had a good time with the family last night, stayed up really late, got to see my grand-daughter again. Overall a good day/night.

Going to try and figure out the ignition problem on the 383 later. Got no spark, or really weak spark. I did some quick checks with the multi-meter and am only seeing 5 volts at the coil. This is brand new Mopar electronic ignition, billet distributor, Mopar orange ECM and provided coil and ballast resistor. There are to issues I think could be involved, one is the ECM not being properly grounded to the firewall, the second is the voltage regulator might be damaged. I have a new regulator, and fixing the ground problem shouldn't be hard. I'll update if that fixes anything. I just want to hear it at least try to start...

Resistor writing to the coil from the factory?

The wiring looks like it hasn't been messed with. I wired the electronic ignition kit as per the instructions, using the supplied coil and ballast resistor. Kinda reading on a Mopar forum a fair bit of issues with Mopar electronic ignition in general, more with the aftermarket versions. If I get frustrated enough I might just go with MSD 6AL and MSD coil. Another thing I read was the Orange ECM is only good to 5500 rpm or so. :doah:

What does a 383 like the rev too?

Or should I ask what’s a safe zone for them?
