1969 Buick Wildcat Custom build. Sold it.

It is now on the lift. New master cylinder went on as the old one was dry and rusty. Blew the hard lines out to the front brakes. Soft lines were failing internally and plugged. Ordered both fronts and the one rear. O'Reilly's had them in Denver. Pulled the wheel cylinders and 2 work, but I ordered all new. Again, they were in Denver.

Since the front backing plates were off, the MAW took over. Sand blasted and painted now. Bearings are good and brake shoes are at 50%.

What's sucks is, all of this will go away when I do the disk brake upgrade. But I want to make it drive.
 
You gonna build the 430 or go with the 8.1L?
 
8.1 eventually. But I love getting the original stuff running if I can. And the engine is worth more running.
 
Pulled the carburetor to fix the dead accelerator pump. The 4 hold down bolts were 1/4 turn loose. All top screws on the carb were loose. I do not think I have ever opened a carb that has been sitting this long and had all of the jets clear. Float is good.

This is all of the crud that was in it. I have not cleaned this.

Pretty stoked with the purchase the more I look at it. I called the lady I bought it from. Told her I owed her more money for it. They are struggling financially. She said no. I guess I did get a new water heater donated and I installed it for them on Tuesday. So she considers us beyond even.

Also put a new Transmission output seal in it. When we pulled it on the trailer, the fluid ran out.
 
Nothing was showing on the transmission dipstick. I put 2 quarts of transmission fluid in. Tht brought it up to within a quart. Car is not running. Put 5 gallons of gas in the tank and looked underneath to see if fuel was leaking. Nope, but the transmission has multiple leaks.??????? Run the lift up and walk under to find the pan gasket leaking. Then realize only 3 of the pan bolts were in.

I'm not sure what the PO was doing by taking so many things apart, kind of. Just weird.

Back brake line did not make it here today, so no driving it until Monday. If it shows up.

I gotta say you must be having fun!? Cool that you got it going and the fixes have been fairly cheep.
It’s in way better shape than i thought it was going to be. It’s fun for me to watch the progress.
