Hello enthusiasts,
I’m seeking help in figuring out roughly what my Blazer is worth in its current condition. I thought of the CK5 community naturally as it has helped me in the past. It is not easy to even think of parting with this truck, but it is a possibility. I’ve owned this truck since 1990. I bought it from a fellow in San Francisco who’s dad owned it and had a farm in California’s Central Valley. The truck was bought brand new by his dad to be used on the farm. When I got the truck it had the infamous dead number 1 lobe on the cam and I replaced it along with the lifters, I put a new distributor and carburetor in. Other than that it is completely stock, except the wheels. It is all original, original engine, original tranny. This truck has 164,771 miles on it. It’s a 1/2 ton, 350 V8 with a turbo hydra-matic AT, PS. No A/C, No tachometer. No original interior tire carrier. It‘s top and lift gate are in great shape, all the glass is good. The rubber around the glass is very good, no cracks, It has the third seat which is in great condition because it’s been in the house for 30 years. It came with a roll bar and a swing away tire and Gerry can carrier which I still have with the truck. I have had a cover on the truck for about five years and removed it for these photos. The header is almost gone and the right hand pillar is nearly gone too affecting the door operability. The grill is in fair shape and the insert is crack free and in great shape. I have many more photos especially underneath but needed to keep within the website’s limits.
I have had to leave this truck outside and the S.F. fog has not been kind to it. I drove it for four years and the brake booster was going out so it got parked and it never got driven again. We had a baby and life changes came about and It has been sitting for 26 years. It doesn’t run, tires are flat and cracked, it has serious rust and I still think it’s the most beautiful Blazer ever made.
Here are some photos to give you an idea of it’s condition. Thank You everyone in advance for your time and opinions, it’s greatly appreciated

Sad to see one that bad off. You really don’t know the value until you list it on Craigslist/FB etc. Maybe someone building a rat-rod would be able to use it.

I'm not good on 1st gen values but I'd say that one is worth the value of the top plus $200-$300 more for the seats / dash / roll bar stuff.

Realistically, the entire right side needs to be replaced plus the hood, left fender and left door. About the only body parts that look good in the pics are the grille and left 1/4 panel. The firewall and windshield frame both need extensive work, the floor looks good but the underside is where you'd have to check and I'm betting there's a fair amount of rot based on the rest of the body and the frame pics. Sadly, IMO, I wouldn't consider this a builder/fixer. This looks like a short list of parts that could be used on a better truck.

Sorry for the what may seem like a harsh valuation but when you remove the emotional attachment that's what's left.

That would be similar to my estimate, but I’ve seen these things sell for more than I expected so it’s certainly worth trying to sell it now before scrap metal prices compete with it. There was a guy in Fremont that bought old blazers when I lived there, I think he could even tow them away if hey aren’t running. I’d try craigslist and FB for a bit and then if it doesn’t sell, give that guy a call if there’s no interest. Some of the body panels might make good patch panels so a specialized wrecking yard like that might find it valuable.

Thank you for your input guys, it has been very helpful and it’s very much appreciated
