New to the website and about to get started on a 1970 Chevy Blazer. I have no pictures to post yet but I will be detailing on this website once I get going. Question I have is, I need a full replacement bedside with inner/outer and I am looking for the best part number to use from a good manufacturer. What is the best brand to buy and what would be the worst as it is difficult as a newbie to know? I appreciate any help and look forward to posting. Thanks.

Welcome! Great to see another '70 resurection! Check out these guys in Tennessee. They built an entire first Gen from scratch and their work looks pretty correct. Pay attention to your rocker boxes! I don't have any but a cage is in order bc my doors keep moving.

In CT we have a local company that has no shipping charges if I pick up at their warehouse. I know they use Key Parts and AMD. Any input on these two brands specifically? That is all they carry and it will save me a couple hundred in shipping. A few of the parts I bought already are inner and outer rockers(both sides), cab mounts for front and rear, B and A pillar bottoms and rocker torque boxes and end caps for both sides, body mount kit. Blazer came with new bumpers and billet grill on boxes. All exterior panels are in good shape except passengers rear bedside. The frame is great, bedpan and floor pan are good, I will sandblast everything anyway and undercoat/paint. I do have a body guy to help with most of the body work but is there a better way to brace the rocker boxes then the factory boxes? Seems there should be a better way than the aftermarket boxes. I do plan on having the top off most of the time and from what I know about these is that they get pretty shaky/wonky without the top on. Thanks.

Other than tying in a cage to some sort of tubular replacement for the rocker boxes I'm still looking myself. Don't remove the top until you figure it out. I don't plan on keeping my hard top or staying original so it's nbd. Some companies offer free shipping after so many parts in the cart just sayin. There's a lot out there it's all a lot of work but worth the squeeze

If you haven't checked out Autobody Specialists in CT,they sell a lot of decent body repair panels..they have a website & online catalog..

I've seen some of their panels at swap meets in CT in the past, and thought they were much thicker steel than the usual tiwan stuff sold thru local parts stores and suppliers..they also had panels not available elsewhere, and shaker hoods, etc too..prices were not ridiculous either really..

Do you need an entire bedside? They make the lower pieces that could be welded in.
