I’ve got a customer that has a 1970 K5 blazer. I’ve done front disc conversion, power steering and power brakes for him. Everything has worked out but now when I turn all the way to the right the pitman arm/tie rod is burying itself in the tire. Tire size 33x12.5r15 The wheels are 15x8 with 4.25 backspacing. I can’t find a set of wheels like these with any different offset than 4.25. Can anyone help resolve this issue?

For the disc conversion, you swapped the knuckles, causing the problem? Does this mean you reduced the front track width? Wheel spacers are the easiest solution that comes to mind. I think they used to make a 33x10.5 tire. You should also double-check the drag link length. With the wheels pointed straight ahead, the pitman arm should be perpendicular to the frame rail. Then the drag link is adjusted to get the steering wheel straight. If it ends up really close, you can always adjust the steering stop out.

Mine rubbed while exttrem rught turn. After redoing the drag link it would miss. I made mine longer to center wheel.
My wheels are 6.5x16 so.....

I’m in the same boat- never had a problem with bfg all terrain tires, but when I switched to big o Bigfoot extreme… they rubbed hard enough to tear the boot off the front of the draglink

Had to extend the stop on the knuckle to keep me from doing it again

Will probably go back to bfg tires soon
