1971 4spd 4x4 K5 - BSB

Your wife is used to not parking in there. Don't want her getting used to something we all know will end up being short term parking once you get crazy with projects![/QUOTE said:
Haha ya I'm sure another project will take its place soon after the Blazers done

All of it plus the replacement triplus rocker boxes, rocker panels and end caps

Looks like it's a go.:saweet: When you get some time go ahead and get some more pictures of the floor, the front pillars around the hinge area and the windshield area where they usually rust out. Have you probed the windshield frame with a screwdriver for any thin spots?

PM me the pictures if you want so I don't completely derail your thread.:o

but you need to find the perfect person willing to take on the project, be at that stage, has the money, and lives close by. Not easy, but not impossible.

Ooooorrrrr, you'd need to find some stupid crazy guy who is at least a year away from starting a project and be willing to drive 1800 miles in crappy winter weather.

The price is right and it'll be fun road trip for me and my 2 boys.

Tub is with its new owner! Thank you BigBlock72, was awesome meeting another first gen owner. Hope you had a safe trip back!

Thank you! We arrived home yesterday about 3:30 p.m.. We drove just over 1900 miles in 45 hours (left friday at 6:30), turned 200 gallons of fuel into greenhouse gases, slept for a total of 8 hours and just had a good time.

It was good to meet you and your dad and to see another Blazer be preserved.

When the weather mealows out I will get the tub off of the trailer and get that part to you. Might be next weeek though.

What year is your body? It looks like it didn't start out with a brake booster. My firewall on my 72 is flat where the Mc and booster bolt up.

The body is actually a 71 jimmy tub, i am pretty sure the guy i bought it from added that for a hydroboost set up, or its for the clutch cylinder... but i am not really sure. Before i started this project the most i had done on a car was brakes, so i am learning as i go. if anyone could tell me exactly what its for i would sure appreciate it!

Ya I bought it that way, only thing I'm not crazy about but 1500$ for a completely rust free tub I can't complain

It's an easy patch to find and weld back on...

It definitely looks a bit odd cut way up to the belt line like that! :yikes:

Well after buying a house and moving, i was finally able to move some things around and get the K5 into the garage, hopefully now i can start working on it again. Next on the list is installing the fuel tank, then running the fuel lines. I am thinking about going with Inline tube stainless brake lines kit. anyone had any bad luck with them?

Out with the 72, in with a more complete 71! its a 4 speed with granny low, healthy 350, good top and minimal rust! plans are to clean it up and drive it until i can bring it back to its original color dark olive. Will be my Daily driver once it gets some new seals all around.
