1/2 ton status
I'm selling my 1971 Chevrolet C10 short bed fleet side pickup. I like to call it a street bruiser. It has a very healthy new 454 big block with a new turbo 400 transmission. The engine has a forged steel crankshaft with double dimple 7/16 rods and TRW forged pistons making 10.2:1 compression. The heads are 781's with big oval ports that have had 2.19 and 1.88 valves installed with mild pocket porting. The cam is a Lunati hydraulic roller with matching roller lifters. It also has new comp cams springs and comp gold full roller rockers. The intake is an edelbrock airgap with a new holley 750HP carburetor. It has a new MSD distributor and 6A ignition box. The engine is NEW and strong! The headers are Hedman elite and the exhaust is new 3 inch pipes with flowmasters. The trans was built with HD parts and 32 element sprag. The converter is a 4500 stall PTC made for nitrous. The rear is a 12 bolt with 3.73 gears and a spool. I have 2 sets of rear tires on rally wheels. It has 325 drag radials on it now and I have a set of cheater slicks as well. Mechanically this truck is all new with top shelf parts.
The truck has been lowered with spindles and springs in the front and springs and blocks in the rear.
The truck looks great from 20 feet, but the paint job is showing it's age. Body wise this is a very solid truck with very little rust. The interior is nice with buckets and console out of a 1990 454ss pickup. The paint and body is presentable, but could use a little work. I have a complete front clip from a 67 that I was going to put on when I did the paint and body work. It and all of the extra parts I have will be available to an interested buyer.
Wife says some toys must go. This truck is ready to ride and enjoy or take to the drag strip. I'm asking $8000 and might negotiate a little on the price and might entertain interesting trades.
