What size universal joint should my rear Ujoint be for my 12 bolt.

Should this be a straight 1310X1310?

I need to buy a new yoke and was just wondering if the one that is there is correct? Mine is worn out and there is a little side to side play but not enough to be a combination joint.

Thanks
Mark

Any sugestions on where to buy?

I've got a good used yoke and a 1310 ujoint that only has a few hundred miles use if you're interested. I pulled the yoke axles and gears off my 12 bolt before I recycled it.

My Yoke had straps and the one I ended up with has U bolts. Should this be a problem? Mine was on a 1972 GMC Jimmy. Could it be different years? Is there anything that could be a problem?

The U-Bolt style is definitely the stronger and more desireable one to have...

I can look through my stuff and see what's there, the blazer frame I'm parting out might just have what ya need. :wink1:

well I went to install the yoke that was sent to me but it was a 17 spline and my strap style is a 30 spline. Did any 12 bolts come with a 17 spline yoke? Anybody need a 17 spline 1310 U bolt yoke?

If you happen to be out there you can look. My yoke which I originally thought had spread a little (actually one of the ears/stops was 1/2 worn away). I added a little weld and repaired mine since I had it off to change to the one that won't fit?

Oh Well

I'm sorry that yoke didn't work for you. Did they change 12 bolt yokes between '71 and '72. I know the front axle ujoints are different, but I'd never heard of any differences in 12 bolts.

I sent you a reply with a link to 15 ebay adds all for 30 spline 12 bolt yokes. Does anybody here know of a 17 spline 12 bolt yoke?
