1972 K/5 Blazer Ochre LS

This will be a combination of a couple blazers put together.
Started off by buying this parts rig. Not much to it. Full rolling chassis and came with some extra parts. Idea was to use the front part of the tub and buy all new for the rear. Plans changed. I parked it for a few months. Here’s some pictures of that one.

Tyler out at Restore a muscle car was parting out a 72 blazer. Frame had been chopped up to run 4 link coil overs and turbo LS. He had other plans and I figured I could make better use out of the body, so we traded.
Swapped his Ochre tub on the better frame I had sitting around

ORD HD shackles
Bilstein shocks
New bumpstops

Working on fitting this 73-87 crossmember in the 1972 frame. Used some square body wedges and modified them a little. One side is about done

Offroad design 73-87 big block/LS crossmember installed. Used the 783-87 motor mount wedges. Cut about 1/2 off the top and re welded them to fit 1972 frame. 4DE46143-CBBA-4E38-AA79-1901C2B7E38D.jpeg
Next project is install the Tanks tank. Bough the whole kit with pump and lines. First time using this, seems like a nice setup

Trying to decide what to do with the floor. Patch the holes for now or replace floor. The holes cut through a brace unfortunately. Ideally a full floor replacement would be my best bet, just scared for the snowball that follows :doah:

maybe just de-rust and patch small sections over time, keep a coat of primer or rattle can paint over it until it’s all done, then paint it “officially”. Or bedline it.
