I have owned a '71 Blazer and a '72 K20, and it now I am in the market for a "new" '71-'72 K truck.
Since:
1) there were far more 1/2 tons made than 3/4 tons,
2) more 1/2 tons have more options (A/C, Cheyenne, etc) than the 3/4 tons
3) since I plan to change the suspension, axles, tires/wheels and brake system, this essentially only leaves the frame as a possible "weak"point.
So my question is, other than the 8 lug front spindles and spring rating, is there ANY other difference between a K10 and a K20 for the '71-'72 trucks (I know there IS for the later trucks)?
OR - can I make a K10 INTO a K20, by changing the parts from #3 above?
Thanks for your assistance. Hopefully your information will allow me to find a truck sooner!
