New vehicle in the stables. Not sure what the plan is yet besides convert back to single wheels and put a regular bed on it.

Original 402 has been replaced with a 350 very recently. Only odd thing so far is option sheet shows automatic but it has a 4 speed manual/np205 in it. Rear end has duals on the H072 and a fancy aluminum bed.

You may very well have a cab swap.
The Model # on your SPID decal CE21034 indicates a 2WD C-series 3/4-Ton Longhorn chassis.

Also the 402’s RPO L47 ( or “400” as GM screwed around with advertising ) and RPO M49 ( TH400 ) was not offered in the K-series trucks back then.

Nice truck - should be a great project.

Well dang not original but at looks like they did a pretty good job swapping it over none the less. Thanks for the info! I was starting to wonder if the cab had been swapped but now we know for sure.

Plan for the engine?
If you want to go back to a 402, I have one.
I know you're far from CA but I figured I would throw it out there

If you were closer we would think about it for sure. But the 350 in there is a brand new crate engine installed by the previous owner. So no reason to go out of our way to get rid of it.

Thanks for the offer though!

Dad pulled in the yard finally. He's been sending me pictures as he made the trip with a friend to go get it. Threw the duals back on. It honestly looks pretty good as is but my dad has already spoken for another long bed from a nice 71 c20 in the same color. So plan is to sell this aluminum bed to pay for other parts.

Used rims/tires from the 86 burb. I think the rims will stay but the street tread tires will be replaced with something more aggressive.

Home brew overloads and bump stop Extensions will be getting cut off. Right rear wheel seal is leaking since it appears the axle nuts came loose very recently. Hopefully didn't hurt too much but we will get it apart and check. If needed we have another 14 bolt that can go in.

Can also see the color they resprayed it as. Must have been pretty scrappy paint or prep work. Faded and coming off everywhere.

Anybody know if like a 255/85r16 would fit on here with no lift? Otherwise we would stay with the 235/85.

I don't have experience with the first gen on those tires, I have them on my gmt400 suburban and needed minor trimming of the inside lip of the fender.
From the pic you have I suspect the the lower edge of the front of the fender will catch.
You could defang it

We're trying to avoid any cutting on this one. Just meant to be a driver. Was just hoping to get an aggressive good height tire on there.

If you were closer you could try mine without buying. I knew I wanted them and was lucky the clearancing doesn't show from outside

Interior pretty well torn a part. Got the new dash installed. Haven't decided yet if these are better or worse than squarebodies... Less room to work on stuff in the dash and doors but everything is just a little simpler than squares.

Still got plenty of interior bits to go in... AC vents, ducting, new oil pressure/water temp gauges, shifter boots, driver side window seals/scrapers, etc.

Thinking we're gunna button up the interior as much as we can. And then put the bed on just for a visual. And to store it since we need it off the trailer.

I bet the tires would fit fine. My dad had a '69 2wd with 33/12.50s on 8" wheels that cleared when I was a kid.
