Hi, just picked up a 1972 Chevy K5 4X4 with a 307 V8, 4 speed manual transmission with 81K on it. Oh, she is rusty & not running! It's at the point where it could go either way....fix or scrap but, a buddy and I will fix it. He's a professional welder and I could wrench so, we will get it going and it won't be a show truck but more of a driver / trails & mud bog. Anyways, I wanted to say hi and research this forum for valuable info. I'll include a few pics and a video link of us picking up the K5 and will update thread as we go with more pics/videos. Any advice will be appreciated. I'll also be posting in the parts wanted section. I'm in the CT area and I need a gas tank & a front bumper, right now it has a plow frame on it and no turn signals....no bumper. I don't care if it's a beat up bumper, something to put on and get the signals working. Our first goals will be to get it to yard drive so, we need to get a gas tank, get it running, fix brakes & finally clean frame. I will be ordering front quater patch panels & rear quater patch panels from LMC. I need to get this K5 looking reasonable so I don't piss anyone off.

Reasonable looking is relative. Do what you like and I am sure everyone here will still have their own opinon. It's your truck after all!!

Welcome to your new home. I wouldn't order a lot of your patch panels from LMC. I have a bunch of their stuff behind the garage in the Blazer pile as it was not correct. Some stuff is the same from vendor to vendor. Some not.

Try GMCPAULS or Classic Heartbeat with Wes. You'll at least start out with the best possible patch panel.

Thank you.....I'll start looking at these places.

EDIT: went to GMCPauls and yes, the panels are of much better quality.
