Hello all,
Well...as I am getting deeper and deeper into my mess/project - I am finding the need for a few parts that I hadn't planned on. (I hate it when that happens.)
Here is the latest - We stripped the rust-free hood on my truck for priming and painting and discovered some imperfections you couldn't see with the old flat paint on it. It looks like someone walked across it in the past. There are about 4 slightly indented sections on it that aren't going to look good with new paint...and the hood gets waaaay to hot to use filler to level it and expect it to last.
Here come the questions...Does anyone know what the availability is like for a VERY clean, VERY straight 73-80 hood? I'd like to keep as much original metal as possible, but how do the aftermarket hoods fit? (Normal style, not cowl induction...I like the clean original look.)
Also, anyone need a completely rust free hood (California truck) in etching zinc primer that has some minor indentations on it? It will probably be going up for grabs at some point. Aside from the indentations, it's beautiful.
Thanks for any guidance!
