Hey All,
I bought a new compressor for the Blazer and finally have everything else I need to get the A/C system put back together except the bracket for the compressor. I know the bracket goes on the drivers side of the engine and have a general idea of what it is supposed to look like but no idea where to get one.

Is the best bet just to go to a junkyard? Did a bunch of years/models use the same bracket? It is interchangible with other brackets?

Does anyone have a picture of exactly what I should be looking for?

Thanks,
John

Assuming your engine is stock, you can look it up in LMC truck's catalog and there will be an exploded view that should give you a pretty accurate idea.

Junkyard or classifieds on here should get you what you need from there. There is 3 or 4 pieces I believe. Rear bracket for compressor, front bracket for compressor, think there's a bracket attached to power steering also.

I tried LMC first actually and their views don't show the bracket for some reason, just to components. I am not sure where else to look other than maybe going to a chevy dealer to see if they have a picture of it.

I'd help you out with pics, but pulled my a/c system out and got rid of it.

Should be the same as on my '76 right? The compressor's a Delco A6? I can get you some good pictures of mine if you'd like.

That would be awesome! I assume it should be the same. Its an A6 compressor and its mounted on the drivers side of the motor.

If it's the A6 on the drivers side head, I'm sure it's the same. I'll try to get you some pictures before it gets dark tonight. If I have time to get some yokes at picknpull before I leave for Alaska on Monday, I'll see if they still have that Chevy with the A6 in there and if I have time I'll grab the brackets.

Awesome! Thanks a ton dude! That should give me everything I need to pull some brackets at the JY. Thanks again for the help!!!

I'll keep an eye out. Make sure to update this thread as soon as you find some, so we don't keep looking. My AC brackets are not the same as those since mine is an '85 with a pancake compressor. Was hoping to just give you them.

Hahahahaha, I still haven't found a set at the local yards : ( So I asked Octane to keep a look out for me as well. He had a pile of parts in his garage but his aren't for the A6 compressor.

I have a 73. I know the compressor has been pulled but i will check for brackets. If they are there you are there you are more than welcome to them as I wont be putting ac back in mine.

Thanks dude, I should have updated this a while ago but I was finally able to find the brackets at a Junk Yard and my AC is all installed and running again!

I think there is another guy on the board looking for AC bracket though.
