i went to see a blazer that they were selling on the news paper.

the guy wants
$200 with out the motor or $600 with the motor
i have $200 right now but can hopefully get $400 more by the end of the week

my question is is it worth it??

the motor and trans are awesome it shifts great:D

specs are:
d44/12b
350 sbc
350trans
203 w/part time kit
has new rockers and fender just not installed and rear seat and a tire carrier/jerry can carrier

for 60o bucks for a runn 350 and a 44 ya... pull the motor trans and t case and 44 and junk the rest and youd be ahead of the game
 
I would say for that price I would snag it. It is a full top, with some rust, but not a lot by any means. It could easily be a beater for the trails. I really like the wheels because they are the full spoke wheels that come all the way out, not the punched out holes that current spoked wheels have. I have been searching for a set of those for my K5. If nothing else you could easily part out nearly everything and make your money back and then some.
 
I'd go for it. Like they said, it's easily worth that parting out, but it looks like something you could salvage and have some fun with.
 
okay so my dad and i had a talk, and he said that he will give me $400 and he keeps the 3/4 ton truck.


see i wanna dd the blazer because my truck has blow by, and all i need for the blazer is plates, the 3/4 ton truck needs a carb, exhaust, plates and i wanna paint it.

and if my dad keeps the truck i have a wheeling buddy

so i dunno what to do!!
 
I'd do it. Go for it. Price is right.

Look at the original color under the hood and inside, Gus...:whistle: :D
 
$600 for a running, driveable Blazer is a good deal. A bit of work with an air-powered body saw will make that rust around the wheelwells just disappear. :)

Those wheels look like they may be Jackman brand. They've been out of business for around 30 years, but they made some awesome looking wheels!
 
Great year! (of course, I am biased) but one thing that caught my eye, since you want to use this as a daily driver:

The way that drivers seat is leaning, I would take a close look at the floor. I almost bought a 74 that was rotted out so bad I would have been dragging my ass on the road after the first bump.

For the money though, I would agree - Go for it!

okay so i talked to the guy and ima go pick it up saturday at noon

so i lost a 3/4 ton truck but gained a wheeling buddy and a full convertable blazer!!
 
Get a welder too...you'll have some work you'll need to do soon as far as floors and stuff goes. Even so, the rust doesn't look too bad right now.

It is a good price. I bought a '77 Blazer in about the same shape for about the same money, but this was 15 years ago. Like an idiot i sold it too cheap, not realizing i had practically stolen it. The day the ad came out the truck sold immediately with no dickering. i thought I did OK because I sold it for more than I paid. It was only later that i realized I sold it for about half of what I could have got. :doah:

I bought a 72 blazer a couple years ago for 200 bucks with a more than shot body. It ran, but was rough and the wife was giving me a hard time for even dragging it home. Within 2 months it was parted out and I was roughly 700 ahead. At least the good thing is that every one that bought parts of it were improving their own. I'd rather see that happen than go to the crusher.
