I just bought (well dad took my money and bought it since I'm in Iraq working) a 1973 J-4000 Quadratrac for an insanely cheap price, everything is factory, 360/auto, He didnt tell me the mileage, dosent really matter......It needs a little steel work done but nothing my body guy cant take care of at his shop......So I got a few questions......I couldnt find much searching here or google.....

What type of fluid does the T-case and axles take, something special with friction modifiers or just plain ole 80-90 (which I doubt), cause all of the fluids are needing changed badly.......

I got a 440/727 combo with 125K miles in my 1977 Sportsman motor home, how hard would it be to slip the 440 down in it and convert the BB tranny to 4x4 and would it bolt to the factory T-case, cause me and dad talked about building an aluminum headed 500+ inch engine for this thing for a little rumble.......

I am going for a vintage look on the outside, so 33-35 inch tires max, does anyone know where I can get a set of wide bias ply "old school" style mud tires, I know Power King has 2 different styles of 9.00x16's but I was wondering if anyone offered a 12.00x15 possibly.......

Can the front 44 be converted to 8 lugs or can some type of 60 be swapped in without chopping up everything too bad, I have a SRW full float 4.10 14 bolt or the DRW 70HD from the camper to swap under the rear......

Its sad I'm asking such n00b questions but I dont play with Jeeps that much.......Especially a 36 year old one.......

check out this http://www.ifsja.org/ They will have all the info you need.

I can tell you one thing that quadrtrac t-case will not live at all every if you put a fire breathing 440 in front of it. No way No how.

Yeah I'm a member there.....

We are just going to rebuild the 360, cause you cant put the 440 in it without replacing everything in the drivetrain.....I will just rebuild the 360 a little hotter than stock and leave it......supposedly it was a 4 bbl from the factory but now its a 2 bbl and the 4 bbl intake is setting in the passenger floorboard.....
