My flexplate is warped as crap...how do I know what to replace it with? It doesn't have a marking or number on it....

Toss that POS. Get a new one from Jegs or Summit. Theirs are a little bit thicker than stock.

the diameter and # of teeth. for some reason 168 tooth comes to mind. Summit also shows 153 tooth.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong. the 350's were internally balanced and the 400's were externally balanced which meant they had a weight on the flexplate????

I counted the teeth and it's 168 and it's slightly over 14" in diameter...

Anybody have a preference of Flexplates? I am a little leary of mail order the way UPS throws stuff around...figure if I buy it local I can see it before I buy it.

you can get heavy duty at most chain stores.

and just order the thing for the year/model/engine you got in the blazer its that easy . and you counted theeth so you know for sure its a 168 so good to go.

fyi you prob did that when NOT un bolting the tourqe convt from it when droping the tranny.

That's what I figure too...it would have made all kinds of noise if it were that way before....that was a $100 mistake...

I bought a HD one from Napa a few years ago and been fine. has a much thicker ring gear

I was just looking at my local NAPA...HD model is $89.99...Balknap or something like that
