i found one of these today, pretty much stripped,10 lug rear/5lug solid front and had steering box w/ lines to a hydralic ram on solid front axel to xover....the box looked like the 1 on my k5 and other chevys...i couldn't tell if it would swap on or not. is this a factory hydrasteer, and is it adaptable to our 1/2-1ton.
what tonnage is 5000?
it has a front motor plate that looked interesting as well.
would it make a good 4x4 conversion, do they even make a 10 lug frontend?

The "hydro assist" on factory trucks isn't all that rare. I wouldn't bother with it, all of that stuff is sized for stock tires to help out with the steering on a stupid heavy truck (plus its old).

There is plenty of medium duty truck stuff that is 10 lug but wheel/tire selection is pretty much limited to highway tires. I you want to run any kind of aggressive tire then you will either have to buy/make custom wheels ($$$$$).

There is no way I would consider swapping anything from that truck into anything, but that's my .02.
