I have a 1974 gmc jimmy, one of the lug stud splines is stripped on the driver side front axle hub. The only hubs I am finding say they are for a 1977+. Is there one I can use on a 1974 or what should I do?

77 and up are big bearing hubs.
You can get the bigger spindle to match.
Gives you space to put the thicker axle shafts with bigger ujoints

OR, measure the diameter of the splined part, or the striped hole for that matter go to the hardware store. Get a piece of “shim tube” the same diameter as the hole or the same as the striped splines. 0.010 of inch thickness should do the trick.
Cut off a piece of the shim tube about 3/4” place it around the striped splines of the stud and pound it into the hole.
I’ve done it many times works like a champ. Studs are so tight in there, like it never happened. Most of time, I have a hard time getting the stud in all the way it’s so tight. 2 lb sledge to the rescue!
I’ve saved several hubs this way.
