Wanted: 1974 Blazer NP-203 shifter knob in good to NOS condition.

Need to be a little more specific. There are 2 different thread sizes. The Hurst shifter threads are different than the non-Hurst shifter.

Anybody got any ideas on what to use to restore the white diagram on top of the shifter knob? I found a shifter knob that has the diagram but the white is all gone...although the "valleys" are all there so you can see the impression...
not sure what kind of paint ot material would inlay in there real good.

Lay white paint over the whole top, and immediately wipe over the top with a good clean rag that has a touch of gun wash on it. The white will stay in the grooves, the excess will be removed.

What kind of paint would be best for holding up to heat and sweat

This worked great! However, when I tried to put the knob on my shifter it was too big....my shifter rod has "Hurst" imprinted in it....are there adaptors available or can you just find the correct shifter rod?

Hurst is the shifter they used on those 203 most of the time.
All the ones I had where the hirst shifter, but I do have knobs from all kinds.
If it's easier to change the knob let me know.

Could use some rubber cement to glue in a piece of tube insert and then just thread it on. The threads will cut into the rubber tube and hang onto it good enough, besides this knob won't get alot of use.

Now that's not a bad idea...:waytogo:
