Here are my options:

Drop transmission take it to shop and have it rebuilt or buy a reman.

Which way would you go and how much should I expect to pay for either method?

Anybody familiar with Jasper engines and transmissions?

Yeah, lot of good stuff and some bad stuff, just like any company, no one is perfect.
I have SHift management inc next to me so I use them.:dunno:
I used to rebuild my own but now I make more money in the time it takes me to rebuild one.

I changed all the seals that I could get to on both sides...still leaking from the front...gonna have to have it rebuilt to stop the leaking....also not sure it is shifting into 3rd...I only feel one shift...

rebuild it yourself.....

T-350's are one of the easiest to rebuild....

do your research,,get a master rebuild kit ,,,heck, there are even videos of step by step rebuilds available on dvd's....

nothing like learning to do it on your own....T-350's need very few specialty tools and I bet your local tranny shop would be happy to do the few things they require...or just invest in the tools and you will have them for next time..

I build 350's / 400's no problem...have done 700r4's but don't really like doing them...

I agree, I rebuilt my first th350 by taking my time taking it appart and laying all the parts on a clean floor then reassembling in reverse order with new parts, I made all the tools I needed.
I had no books, no video, and no help line, it was in the middle east and the kit cost me $100. It took me one day to disassemble and clean, and one day to put together.
I rebuilt 3 th350's then when I cam here I got them rebuilt because I make more money now.:D

all sorts of places online,,,,,jegs, summit, tci transmissions.....

several places sell hard parts / racing components...input shafts,,gearsets,,hardened drums and sprag packages..

T-350 / 400 really benefit from small modifications to make them stronger....

do a search for rebuild mods tips and tricks etc.

small things like changing to stronger sprags,,adding an extra clutch and steel to a clutch pack really go a long way to making the trans stronger...

Is $1300 reasonable for a TH350 rebuilt with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty?
They are tested with dynamometer and every part is mic'd

I don't know about you but I think it's too much for a 350, I pay that for a 700R4, but I guess a 3 year 100k warranty if it actually is honored maybe worth the extra $$:dunno:
I get 18 month 18K warranty with under $500 for a th350, which is more than I would want anyway.

Thats about what the shops around here charge too ....but like everyone said they're simple transmissions so alot of guys do it on the side...a friend of a friend who was a retired school district mechanic did mine for under $300 with a shift kit. If he wansn't an hour away, and I wasn't planning on doing other work with it out he would have installed it too.

Shouldn't I feel 2 shifts with a TH350?

I feel one shift but not the second...although at 55 mph the engine isn't screaming...

Shift it manually while listening to the engine rpm. Usually it's the 1-2 shift that gets so soft you can't feel it...well before the 2-3 shift gets bad. You're probably not feeling the first shift.

What did you decide on Chief? I'm at the same decision point in my build and am curious.

I'm not sure where your at in Co but we use Randy Rodd at Jimmys 4X4 in cortez for our race car stuff, or performance trans in Grand Junction, and then there was another transmission place in the Denver metro area that I talked with a while back but can't remember the company name.

I would just find a good re-builder near you and have it done.

Was there anything wrong with the 203? I'm inclined to do the same with the transmission..I'll look around and see what the cost will be where I live.

Cortez and GJ would both be a stretch, I'm in the Springs. Know any good shops here?
