i finally got my blazer on the road after months of working on it and when im driving it doesnt feel like its accelerating once i reach a certain speed dont have a spedo on yet so cant tell how fast im going but all i can say is its not fast, so when i start flooring pedal to accelerate its makes this noise like its struggling, i dont its wierd its like its capped cant go past a certain speed.hope someone can give me some area to check, the car does sound good when its idleing and always starts first time.

Need more info on engine size, transmission type,etc..but a wild arsed guess is if you still have a catalitic converter it might be clogging up inside..seen crushed exhaust pipes cripple an engine too, they'll only want to idle well, anything past idle it'll just lay an egg and want to bog out or stall..could be lack of fuel pressure if its fuel injected--weak fuel pump, clogged gas filter,etc..

I hope that it isn't in low range!
You didn't say if the engine is winding up really high.
??

its a 350 automatic idk what kind of transmission i just bought truck in summer and been working on it since, has no catalytic converter, straight pipes conected to headers i also could it be im driving in another gear i have have hubs unlocked and i have the 4x4 shifter on the all the way up postion facing windshield,

no doesnt sound like its whinding up really high, how can i tell what range im in, also how can i post pics to show you guys what i got

As far as I know , the factory transfer case for that would be a 203, which I believe that I remember would have low range towards the dash, or windshield .
High range should be back towards the seat. It sounds like you have on that is converted to part time, since you have hubs.

Try playing with it . Shift the t-case and see what you get.

75 will be mounted on the front passenger side of the block

Could be bad cam lobes... probably not something that you wanna hear but I went through the exact same thing a few months back.

The engine would hesitate anytime I tried to accelerate hard and the fastest I could go was maybe 45ish mph, if I gave it anymore gas it would have a backfire kind of pop to it, verified that the distributor was not 180* off and adjusted the timing in small increments over the course of an hour or so while driving it around the neighborhood.

Kinda sucked cause I just put a new intake on and a badass Demon carb, changed all the gaskets out too... hurt my feelings a little bit.

My engine was ran with zero oil in for an extremely short period of time and that was enough to round the cam lobes and pretty much make the engine ineffective.

What size engine? What rearend gear ratio? What trans? What size tires? Vehicle weight? If you have a 305 and 273 gears tha would explain it. Maybe 4bbl is not opening? Needs a tune-up? Timing to low?

When I boight my truck the guy had

Unless its uphill!...:D..
My '81 G-10 with 2:73's and a 307 V8 can hit just over 50 mph in first, 75+ mph in second gear--tops out around 90 in third...(at least it could ten years ago last time I had it registered !)..however,if there is a slight uphill grade,it'll take about 4 minutes to reach 65 mph....unless you leave it in second....

When I got my truck the 4bbl was not opening because the guy had a carb adapter hitting the blades. It was a real dog. Now I have a 388 vortec with 2.73 gears. I can probably go 200 MPH. LOL.
