This 1976 Blazer popped up on marketplace a few weeks ago. Decent price, and somehow I was first in line so I hooked up the trailer and drove to Crescent, Iowa. Pictures looked too good to be true and they absolutely were. Got there and he had other parties waiting for me to back out so I stuck to my word and loaded it up.

Here’s the marketplace pictures.

So here it is loaded up. Which was interesting as it don’t have a winch an he couldn’t get it to run, it was out of gas…..completely.

And the driveway pics. Rust is much worse than anticipated. Needs rear glass, side glass and windshield. IMG_5076.jpeg
Drivers side fender is the wrong color. Drivers side door is not original and is extra beat up and rusty.
Found this on his FB. Explains the door and fender issues IMG_5055.jpeg

Wheels and tires are terrible and had spacers on all 4 corners. Those were the first to go
Had these in the shed

Previous owner had just put together this SBC 350 that came in it. From my non professional SBC knowledge I’m assuming the cam went flat. Ran like crap, tighten a few rockers and it ran much better but still had a knock. Oil proved that theory also as it came out sparkling.
One thing lead to another and the engine was out and a few other parts fell off

Picked up a 350 out of my buddies 79 Z28. Didn’t do anything to it. Just power wash and pant and back together

Maiden voyage around the block. Previous owner lost the hood hinges. Runs good!
I repainted the red/orange on the drivers fender, after I do the door it will all match much better. IMG_5272.jpeg

Drove it to work in preparation to drive it out to Restore a muscle car and get some parts and swap to a better top. They had a top out there with a good drivers window so I cut my passenger side slider window out. My top had holes and cracks so this one is much better. Got a few other good parts while I was searching their yard. Dash pad, rear window regulator, hood hinges and also a decent 73-76 drivers door.
Cleaned it up a work

Got the top on, side window in and rear window working properly with the regulator, new rollers, new sash, new tracks and seals. It did come with the glass for the rear window.

Correct dash pad. Was going to paint it red but I do like the tan with all the wood grain in here

Help put the windshield in today. So much better. IMG_5323.jpeg

Pulled the cylinder for a locking gas cap out of the filler neck so I went and filled it up. Last time I got gas, it would just spit back out if I filled too fast.
Gas station pics.

Front calipers locked up today. Smoking by the time I got home. Surprisingly they freed up and seemed ok going to the gas station. I have calipers to pick up tomorrow either way.
