Is this a good price for a 1976 blazer. What are the pros and cons about this type of blazer and is it worth while getting.

This is what the owner/seller said about it.

The blazer was bought 5 yrs ago from the son of the original owner. He had a ranch south of Calgary and was getting snowed in in the winter. He only drove it for three years then left it parked in his garage (he was pretty old). It had only 17,000 miles on it at the time.

It now has 32,5xx miles on it, (apx 3000 miles per year since I bought it). Oil changed 2x/yr. I had the engine made more efficient by Davenport motor sports (re-curve distributor etc) and it now gets 18 mi/gal and has much power.

He wants $7000 firm. $7000 Canadian that is. $5881 US. Is this a good deal or should I just get a good used 87-91 blazer. This would be a good blazer to have though since it the first year of the hardtop.

SHouldn't this be in the for sale forum? You are a member, so no need to cheat. BTW what does $7000 canadian equal in US dollars? That is one clean K5!!

That is ULTRA CLEAN and seems to be worth every penny in my eyes. It's the first year for the half cab and also the only year that I understand has the rocker boxes in place (ideal if you want to cut the top off and make it into a full convertable) Something that nice would make a great DD or show truck... maybe a light wheeler. I've never seen one in that good of condition, with such low miles. I'd get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way you worded these two paragraphs makes it seem like you already own it since, the first paragraph is in second person and the second paragraph is in first person. Do you own it, or not? If it really only has that many miles on it, and it looks like it does, it's definitely worth it if you want a straight, clean, all-original truck.

Maybe you should pay attention to what you are reading in the first place!

Forum it was originally posted in:

The Garage.

Amount of time I have to decipher whether or not you're selling, looking to buy, posting for a friend or are naked...about 30 seconds.

My advice to you is to title your threads more accurately. A good example for this thread might be something like "Looking at buying this K5...does anyone else think the price is OK?"

Are you picking a fight, Fred? If you want to help Blitz I wouldn't do that because then the thread will not only be in the wrong place, it will get locked also. Everything is sorted out now, so lets just move on.

No, I'm not trying to start a fight! I just didn't think it was that hard to understand that he was asking if that would be a good buy! I just think that sometimes we read a thread and then make it say what we want in our own mind!

Well he started a new clearly worded thread and is getting great responses in the garage. Maybe you'd like to contribute something meaningful?
