I want to pass on a lead for a Suburban I looked at last Wednesday. This is not my vehicle, nor am I affiliated with it in any way, but I thought one of you guys might appreciate it: https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/d/1976-gmc-suburban/6405339783.html
It wasn't the rig for me, but I wanted to share it here in case one of you are seeking an unmolested 4x4 Suburban. It is listed by the original owner (I'm guessing he is in his 70's) as opposed to a dealer/flipper holding an open title, so I thought I would do him a solid by posting it here. There are small spots of rust-through at the back of every fender, some minor rust-through in the passenger's side rocker, and some surface rust at the roof seam on top of the B pillars. The floorboards looked rust-free from what I could see when looking underneath it. The interior was not in bad shape, but the needles on the gauges were faded and the plastic door panels were chalking a bit. The 400 small block had a ticking noise coming from the bottom of the block while idling, but it drove well up and down the street. The functional A/C has been converted over to R-134, the power steering box was replaced at some point, and the front grill had some damage from a hi-lift jack incident. In my opinion, there is a little too much sentimental value factored into the asking price, but it is a good, solid truck and the seller struck me as a straight-shooter that wasn't hiding anything (I spent an hour talking to him and looking the rig over). The "like new 40 year old truck" statement is not exactly accurate, but it is not a dog, either. I would love to see it go to a fellow CK5er if any of you are in the market for one.
