idk if this has been answerd before but im going with a 14 bolt rear end on my 1976 k10 and i want to do the disk brake conversion on it. and was wondering if you can use rotors and calipers off of a 2 wheel drive 3/4 or 1 ton truck and if they would work out? or does it have to be straight axle?

my other question is the keys are no were to be found for this truck so i decided to get a new ignition switch and replace my old one. but im having a prolbem getting the old one out. there is no lock screw like every one says it should have. so how do i get that thing out? is it a special tool? its a 1976 chevy k10 scottsdale

I would not recommend trying to use 2wd rotors. I put disks on the rear of my K5 and I just bought new rotors from checker for pretty cheap. Lookup 1977 3/4 ton 4x4 front rotors at cskauto.com.

As far as changing the lock cyl in the steering column, there should be a crossbolt under the turn signal switch crap.

ok thanks. i will take a look at it tomorrow morning. if i cant get it out i will load pictures
