I am currently restoring my factory non-A/C 1976 K5 Blazer and am trying to get a new heater core. Does anyone have details on the correct heater core part numbers? We ordered the "correct" ones labeled on Orreilys, Summit, and autozone and none of the tube orientations fit in the box AND tubes go through the holes. I have searched through the forums and read multiple different threads and havent found this issue specifically. Any help is appreciated!!

Here are the links to what we have tried so far.

Where exactly doesn't it fit. The ac heater core is very different than the pictured one in link

Wes, the tubes dont stick through firewall correctly to be able to get the hoses on and they dont stick through far enough.

Makes me wonder if you have an ac truck w/o the ac. The heater core for an ac truck has longer different shaped tubes. Picture of fire wall side of plenum box would tell the tale

It’s definitely a non AC truck. I don’t have a picture of the box at this time but the firewall side only has the small sheet metal piece. Not the big ugly plastic part. Here is a pic of the firewall after we painted it. Notice the holes for the heater core tubes aren’t close together like the AC ones are.

So we're are you attempting to have the heater core tubes come through

Rockauto shows a few: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...9394,heat+&+air+conditioning,heater+core,6864

Generally don't hear much good about the aftermarket non-AC ones, all junk (either fitment, quality, heat output, or all). I was lucky to find an NOS parts store copper/brass when I was looking. I don't think the fitment changed from '73-91 as long as it was non-AC. But I do recall seeing a lot of comments about stuff not fitting that should have.

Sometimes you have to bend the tubes slightly to fit. For some reason I had to do that. I went through Napa for mine. Also, the retainer that holds it in the box may not be exact. I had to reorder a couple to finally get one that would fit better, but it still wasn’t exact. Just made it work.
