Is it possible to take the floor from the rear seat of the 76 and switch it with an 1987 to make more room for back passenger legs?

So, would it be simpler to put the 87 frame under the 76 body? Or are there mounting difficulties with mounting holes now in different places?

The mounts are different, at least that's my understanding. I know for a fact that one set of cab floor supports is not on the pre-77.5 floors. It might be easier to use the newer tub and frame with the older front clip, than try to re-engineer the entire rear seat area. Of course that is assuming no emissions testing on the newer version.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. The 87 doesn't have a title otherwise I would have and just switched the clip. I really like the round head lights. I need to find one of the rear seats that folds up like the 78s I had. Oh well, the lackof leg room will be ok for the youngins and will keep people from wanting rides.:haha:
On a side note, is the still room upunder there for an onboardair tank under there? I don't have the truck home yet to look.

The older rigs had the seat further back, so although there was no footwell like the newer trucks, there was room to stretch your legs out forward. I've had both versions and have sat in the rear of both and didn't find the older style uncomfortable.
