It is dangerous to drink beer and get on ebay on a Sunday afternoon. I am selling my Blazer because I have bought another one and can't have two. This was not part of my plans. I am keeping the grille insert from this one and I will be installing a chrome grille in its place. I will be not taking or changing anything else...even thought I really want to.
It is showing 122,000. might be correct
there is no tag to tell you what options the truck came from the factory with
The truck is licensed and insured in Louisiana
it has a current inspection sticker
The title is in my name and is clear
This is a 77 blazer. This truck is from Nevada. No rust look at the pics. The interior has been replaced. looks to have been done in the 90's. The driver seat is torn but the others are great. the dash has no cracks. The doors and the hood open and close well. Sometimes the passenger door latch can stick but a little wd40 and it works fine. The console and carpet is pretty good for its age.
New front seat backs
New rear window crank and new door strike post.
New floor mats.
The front fender corners were trimmed at some point. That is a pet peeve of mine. I can see it on mud trucks and rock crawlers. even fenders that are rotted. To do it to perfectly good fenders should be against the law.
The paint is some original and some touch up. it has not been painted over and over. It has a patina to its with scratches and imperfections.
Both axles ave been completely rebuilt with carriers and master rebuild kit with 4.10 gears.
The tires at 35 12.50 15 falken wild peaks. The wheels are US mag 15x10
4 new rancho shocks the blazer had a 4 inch lift when I got it but the shocks needed to be changed.
I believe this is the original motor and I don't think it has been overhauled.
compression test showed 140 or better on all cylinders and wasn't using oil so i just freshened it up The motor had no sludge build up at all. No burn oil inside the oil pan are valve covers. It was very clean. I think in part because the blazer was driven but its last owner back and forth to work daily. He was a mechanic. It just leaked lika screen door and appeared to have done so for a very long time. The following is a list of what I did.
The truck came with a mallory ignition.
new timing chain and gear.
new oil pan and one piece gasket
new air cleaner
new harmonic balancer
New battery
new high amp alternator
new starter
new plugs and wires
new power steering pump and lines
new belts
ac converted to 134 blows cold
new ac temp sensor
new ac fan relay
new edelbrock 600 carb After sitting it takes a few pumps and she cranks up.
edelbrock intake new intake caskets
new valve cover gaskets
The rig had an electric fuel pump that was making a little noise so i replaced it with a new one. I have no idea why they went with an electric fuel pump. It works fine.
Upon changing the gear ratio I realized that i need to get over drive so when i choose to get on the interstate and would not have to run 3000 plus rpm and kill the old girl. While I was at it I got rid of the 203. after droping it out and dealing with the massive beast I had no desire to put it back in.
It is a 700r4 from a blazer. It has been completely rebuilt and has a hydraulic torque converter that locks into overdrive around 60mph. This was a learning experiance. I ended up taking it to a professional. It is mounted under the truck with the factory mounts. it looks correct like it is meant to be there. I also but in a cooler for the transmission. it is mounted to the from of the radiator. I also changed the gear indicator on the steering column.
New speedometer cable
It has a np241 out of an 89 suburban. the shifter was modified to be used in my existing transmission tunnel. In the event i wanted to go to a 205. This was done by a custom shop. It shifts in and out of 4wd perfectly. Actually smother than the 203 did.
The front drive shaft in new. the rear shaft has new u joints.
all the gauges work. The speedo is only a few miles off. 2 or 3. The gas gauge is off by a quarter of a tank.
All of the lights work with the exception of the reverse light on the drivers side I think.
The radio works but it is finicky. There is and amp under the drivers seat. It was like this when I got it. I don't care for the set up myself.
The glass is good with no cracks. It has new windshield wipers.
It has headers and dual exhaust. It is not loud or obnoxious. I am not a fan of headers. I put boots on all the spark plug wires to protect them from the heat. I also put a heat shield by the starter.
Now for the bad or the nagging I should say.
Slip yoke needs to be changed or done away with. it has a slight leak.
The transfer case tends to puke at highway speeds. I have installed a puke tank that seems to work fine. I have had no issues in the 5000 miles or so i have driven it.
when you put it in 4x4 there is no light indicator.
It has a sun roof. It works fine but i don't like sun roofs. The rubber gaskets have been changed it does Not leak. Plus I keep the Blazer in my shop. From the looks of it the truck has always been parked under roof.
The steering box leaks very little. Its not sloppy to steer though. At some point the frame was reinforced. That is a good thing.
valve guides seep a little.
the driver seat is a pain to adjust because the mechanism is gone. More than likely because of the amp under the seat. Priorities right!
no spare tire.
More good
the blazer has very good road behavior. You can steer it with one hand. Its not a hot rod but i go to to town and drive in heavy traffic and it handles well. The brakes are good also. I haven't had to replace anything to do with the brakes.
I have and original steering wheel to go with it. I just have not got around to changing it.
I have some used Cheynne emblems to put on it.
If you don't beat me on my price I have a gm 4l80e and a 241 transfer case that came from a wreck suburban 3/4 ton. The trans only had two years on it. it has been kept indoors since being removed. It has a Goodwrench reman decal on it. I was planning on using it at some point but I won't be needing it.
I am choosing to sell this rig on here because I am trusting that if you are a member here than you understand everything I have stated and you know the value of this rig.I am asking 8500.00. I am located just south of Shreveport close to I49. As in most cases I have way more than that in it but I am reasonable and understand the odds of getting what I am asking. Thank you.
