Dad's 1977 K5 Blazer, one family since the early 80s, original CA truck, needs a new caretaker (Princeton, NJ)
My father bought this 1977 Chevrolet K5 Blazer in the San Jose area in the early 1980s, and it's been in our family ever since. My sister and I all learned to drive in it. When we moved east in 1998 he shipped it out with us, and it stayed his toy. We used it for weekend drives, the occasional snowstorm run, and steady care over the years, including refreshed interior carpeting and other updates he had done. It was last registered in CA and driven around 2013, and after he passed away in 2018 it stayed parked. We're selling the family home now, and I'm looking for someone who will love this truck the way he did and bring it back to its former glory.
The truck: Yellow over white two tone, removable fiberglass rear top, original woodgrain lower side trim, 4x4. It still wears its blue California plate. Being a lifelong dry climate truck until 1998, and lightly used after, the body is very solid.
Drivetrain: V8 with automatic transmission. I haven't verified casting numbers but will gladly send engine bay photos or pull numbers for serious buyers.
Condition, honestly: Ran and drove when parked around 2013. occasionally my father woudl replace a dead battery, restart it and leave it on for an hour then turn it off. Since he passed it has sat since. The gas tank recently developed a hole and leaked out its fuel, so it needs a new tank. Odometer shows well 30K but it flipped once at 99,999 miles. Paint is faded with surface rust and some rust through in spots on the lower body. Close up photos of rockers, floors, frame, or anything else on request.
Title: California title in my late father's name; I'm locating the paperwork now and will sort out the transfer. Happy to keep serious buyers posted on progress.
Price: It was my dad's pride and joy and I want it rebuilt, not parted out or scrapped. Make me a fair offer and tell me what you'd do with it. Want good home over price.

Located in Princeton, NJ. Buyer arranges transport. Ask me anything; I'd rather over disclose than have anyone surprised.
