Just bought a 1977 K5, my first 4x4 and boy am i excited. After driving about 50 miles out of a 60 mile trip back home i lost use of my clutch. Checked it out this morning and it seems my clutch release rod is coming undone when the clutch pedal comes out too far. After it happened i started leaking some fluid. Can someone give me some tips on fixxing this, how big of a problem it is and what the right answer is so this doesnt keep happening?

If i remeber right there should be a spring that holds the rod to the clutch fork

The stock clutch linkage on that truck is:

The pedal rotates what we call the "z-bar", it is sort of the tetris shaped piece that goes from the frame to the bellhousing (the bell shaped piece just behind the motor, ahead of the transmission). At the end of the z-bar will be an adjustable piece that pushes on the clutch fork (from the outside you'll only be able to see a cup shaped portion sticking out of the bellhousing).

It sounds like the adjustable piece is falling out, as mentioned, are the return springs still attached between the clutch linkage and the frame?

Where is fluid leaking from?

No springs and i dont even know where it woudl attach to, does anyone have a good diagram of where that spring would attach to?
