1977 k5 np203 vibration/rattling

Just purchased 1977 k5 Cheyenne. Th350 np203
. It has a rattling when under load and Is mitigated by putting a slight pressure on the t case shifter ? Wondering if the chain may need to be replaced?

Also it has a 4” lift and may need a cv joint, she has a good amount of vibration witch also may be the issue of rattling in the t case . Curious to hear your opinions? Please don’t hesitate

If the chain was slipping it would be making alot of bad grinding noise

The rattling you feel is the shift collar, I don't remember if the 203 has plastic isolators on the forks or not, when those wear out you get the rattle. You also might try adjusting the shifter,
Mine got to where it was popping out of low gear when off road and had to keep my hand or foot on the shifter, but eventually I adjusted the shifter and it was better
