Originally Chevy sold them (well, Chevy printed them and Helm sold them) as three books: service, overhaul, and wiring. It would seem as though this includes all three.

The factory wiring diagrams are HANDS DOWN the best you'll get. Now, you still have to be good with electrics or you'll get into trouble, and your new harness not having colors I think will bite you in the butt, but by all means this will help.

Now, $50 isn't bad for new; Helm gets $75:

But you might hold out for a '79-specific one on Ebay; I know you're wanting to set up everything "just so" and there are likely to be little differences from year to year.

Used ones in particular can go cheap. If you wanted just the wiring diagram:

well that would be difficult...

I would need a book for

1978 chevy k20 - most of truck
1979 chevy k30 - T-case/rear axle
1979 gmc k30 - front axle (maybe same book as above)
1976 caddy eldorado - rear disc
1991 chevy caprice - motor
1996 chevy tahoe - vortec heads


boy that is a lot of books!!!!!!!!!!!111 :haha:

yeah expecially how they screw you over..

I did a make offer..

now it was
$24.95 + $4.80 or so..

so I did a best offer of $20...
well I got it..
$20 + $6.80 + $1.80 insurance...

somehow it went from $4.80 media rate to
$6.80 priority and $1.80 optional insurance

oh well still... for $30 I think it was worth it...
 
Check it out when you get it. I have a 76 book for my Jimmy. It has 77 specific stuff, but also refers a lot to the 1974 book. The 75 book does the same thing.
