1978 2wd Blazer

If it is just the ends I would just replace those.
If it got further in to the truck may be worth swapping. Swapping it a ton of work. Cutting off the frame ends and welding in new ones is a easy process.

I found a parts blazer with everything I need. I have a buddy that’s going to do most of the work. I’m just going to learn and help.

Diesel 4me, will a 2wd 81 frame fit better?
So here goes.
There are actually 3 different frames.
One from 73-77 where the rear section is flat like a pickup.
78-80 where the only change was the rear footwell for the back seat which required a dip in the frame.
And 81-91 which had changes in the width of the frame in the middle of the body, different front frame horns, and I believe different body mounts.
Your best bet is still a 79 frame with a little work and hopefully clean crossmember from your 2wd.
Once you have both frames side by side, it will be much easier to see how easy it is.
Just takes some work.
