There is a 1978 GMC Desert Fox at the Sacramento pic-n-pull. I left with a hickey brush guard for only $41 and the two folding side steps. Still on it are the four tie downs.

I thought you were in Washington?

:frown1:...Sad...
A rare truck I've never seen one of,ends up in a junkyard..

Not that its unusual though,I've seen more one off "weird" vehicles in junkyards than any other place..but it seems a dam shame someone junked that truck..especially when its probably not rotted, being in CA..

Rare? Sure... Special....no, a brush guard and a paint job. Big deal.

Fify.

I think they were cool, but not worth pulling the POS out of the junkyard cool. Reproduction decal sets are available through www.lowsierracompany.com
For the low price of $800 you can get your own decals and make your own.

At the Sacramento Pick n pull or Antelope? I saw a 78 Jimmy hit the list at Antelope but it doesn't have a photo to confirm.

Those are cool, but I'm pretty sure @mrk5 can hook us up for a better price then that.
I actually wouldn't mind building something with those strips.

Those tie downs are not the same as in the brochure . Looks like they just bolt between the topper and bed rail. Why do you want to strap stuff down there anyway? Wonder what kind of reinforcement is behind the sheet metal. The roof rack is interesting, but doesn't seem too practical.

Looks like somebody has already grabbed the driver side tire carrier, if it had one.
