1978 K20 farm truck "Boring maintenance phase"

1978 K20- Rusty beater farm truck
How this evening started. Got home from work and got the 205 yanked back out and swappped the long 32spline back into it.

And installed. Crappy pictures but kinda hard to get good ones when it's a stock height(ish) truck and not on jack stabds.

The AA spacer was the perfect length to allow both of my driveshafts to fit. Right now the 205 shifter is a pry bar tucked under the seat until I can get a new one built. Start to finish for removing the 205, swapping inputs, then reinstalling with the spacer and a test drive was just under 2.5 hours.

For future reference...how much less cutting and grinding could have been done to the tailhousing now that you have the extra clearance? Any way to get a picture of that area?

In this picture you can see that you still have to clearance the tailhousing area for the shift rail.

The only thing i did that's now useless is the clearancing of the inptnshaft seal retainer seen below

You're welcome, basically the only real waste of the whole spacer/no spacer foul up was the now useless and brand new 32 spline short input I have
