1978 K20 Suburban Scottsdale 4x4
This is likely to be the cleanest most well kept K20 Suburban you will ever find. It was purchased from the original owner with just 60,000 miles. The previous owner purchased the vehicle new and I have the window sticker, build sheet, and service manual. The factory engine has been replaced with a very nice 454. The 454 features MSD ignition, Edelbrock intake, Hedman headers, and a quadra jet carburetor. The motor runs like a top. A mild RV cam and dual exhaust give it a throaty hot rod sound. The drive train also consist of a perfect combination of a SM465 manual transmission with deep low, NP205 part time transfer case, and front and rear heavy duty differentials to be verified. If you know anything about four wheel drive vehicles you are aware that this is a bullet proof set up. The transmission and transfer case shift flawlessly.

The suspension has just been replaced with a full leaf spring and shock set from Tuff Country. The vehicle has been lifted 4" to accommodate brand new 35" Yokohama AT tires. The factory wheels have been powder coated black and the hub caps remain in perfect condition. The exterior of the truck is in beautiful condition. All trim pieces are present in excellent condition. The bumpers and grill look as good as new. The paint appears to have had one re-spray with no rust what so ever. The truck was originally from a dry climate in Washington State. The paint shows just enough use to be able to use the vehicle but shines nicely and reflects no prior body work or damage. The interior is in immaculate condition. The truck features 1st and 2nd bench seating with no third row present. The dash is not cracked, the original radio is working, the seats and floor coverings are as new. This is a true 60,000 mile vehicle used for recreational purposes its whole life.

The truck drives great. It turns a comfortable RPM down the interstate with the addition of the larger tires. The steering is tight, the doors shut nicely, and there are no rattles or squeaks. The under carriage is clean as a whistle with no leaks. This is truly an amazing vehicle and needs absolutely nothing. It is ready to be enjoyed.

please edit your post and make paragraphs :doah: its hard to read atthat size also .

nice lookin rig tho . :thumb:

Also, did you swap in the Dana 60's? Cause thats not what this came with stock. The front hub makes it look like you might be mistaken on what axles you have.

I could very well be mistaken. I will post pictures so you can tell me. I think I read that was original equipment so I never verified. It was so clean when I got it all I have done was the lift, wheels and tires and header gaskets. This truck is a Jewell! Thanks for your interest. I am only selling as my family is expanding and I need a late model suburban for long hauls that my wife can also drive around town. I will shed a tear when the 78 pulls out of the driveway. I am half addicted to buying and selling vehicles though. This is probably the cleanest best square body I have ever seen. Rust free!

Here is a picture of the front diferential

Yep and the rear is a corporate 14 bolt. Still good stuff. The 14 bolt is arguably better than the Dana 60. The 10 bolt however is not near as strong as the d60. Regardless, that burb is tits!

I never thought i would see the day where 70s burbs sold for over 10k. that being said. if ive i won last months powerball id own that sucker

Haha, me too. Then I would paint the wheels white, swap steering wheels, and not touch a thing.

I put the 1989-1991 steering wheels in everything. I just like them better.

whats with the 10-bolt front??? 78 should have a Dana 44 whats the build date?

Im fairly certain that 78 is a cross over where it could have been either. My 78 suburban came with a 10 bolt front, but my 78 K25 came with a 44 front.

BT... you forgot to post a pic of the 454!?? :thumb:

You got a pic in your build thread why not here?

Sweet burb I would love to own!! Good luck on the sale!

It is the second one I would of loved to of bought. This was the first 6,680 miles certified by the town! Yours is nice too; that should sell good at a big time car seller auction.
